James Montgomery has over twenty seven years of professional experience as a Registered Landscape Architect. The majority of his experience has been focused primarily in Florida including a broad range of land development projects of local statue as well as exceptionally substantial projects of regional significance. In addition to his professional experience as a regional consultant, his work includes both national and international experience. He has worked abroad as an independent service provider in the role of the Landscape Architect for the design and construction of the Hyatt Regency Resort in Sharm El Sheik, Egypt.

James is well acquainted with the criteria pertaining to the environmental aspects of Florida ecological systems and associated land development regulations. He is well versed with zoning and landscape ordinances, interpretations of the codes, and with the personalities of the various local governmental agencies. His background in Horticulture, Arboriculture and knowledge of native Florida plant materials in conjunction with his expertise of governmental processing has enabled him to acquire the approvals necessary for construction approvals. His qualifications are enhanced by his ability to produce detailed construction documents for project implementation. Mr. Montgomery’s involvement in most all components of the profession of Landscape Architecture has allowed him to become a valued member of the project teams with which he has been associated.

In addition to landscape planting design, he is also proficient in the design of low-volume, water efficient irrigation systems in conjunction with the current watering restrictions of local water management agencies to engender sustainable landscapes which in addition to reducing water misuse, also decrease the requirements for insecticide and fertilizer usage by creating beneficial environments which plants normally flourish in.

As president and founder of Paradise By Design, Inc., James oversees most all day to day operations of the firm. As a Principal Designer, Herb Ramsaier oversees the planning and coordination of most all aspects of a project. He has over 30 years of experience as a master planner, landscape architect and project manager for commercial, industrial, residential developments, parks and golf courses, nature preserves, historic restoration, water parks and theme parks. His international experience includes projects in Saudi Arabia, Brunei, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Greece, Malaysia, Japan, China, Colombia, Taiwan, Mexico, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Canada and the United States.

Herb's prior employment has provided him with invaluable experience such as Director of Operations for Mohammed Nasser Al-Sanousi Trading Company in Kuwait, where he was responsible for corporate development strategic planning, as well as facility master planning and operations for theme parks and family entertainment centers. He also served as Director of Planning and Design for Amstel Services in Malaysia, where he oversaw project development, master planning, and design for leisure residential complexes and theme park on Penang Island. Several years earlier Mr. Ramsaier provided similar services for Planning Resource Group, Inc. in Florida, Cancun Mexico and Kuwait, while serving as President of his own firm.

He began his career in master planning and landscape architecture with the themed entertainment division of the Walt Disney Company. As Director and Chief LandscapeArchitect of WED Enterprises for nine years, he was responsible for departmental management and staffing, master planning, design, budgeting, contract administration, construction administration and cost estimating for all Disney’s projects.

Suncoast Dome, Florida), Tropics North (Canada) and the Greening Master Plan for the Country of Kuwait. These projects have provided him with a diverse range of knowledge, planning, and management.

As well as receiving a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Design with a major in Landscape Architecture from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona California, Herb has served as a board member for numerous programs and commissions including the UCLA Masters Program in Landscape Architecture, Cal Poly Planning Committee, Sunset Books Low Maintenance Gardening, Cal-Poly Planning Advisory Board, Vice President & President of the American Institute of Landscape Architects and the Santa Clarita Valley Planning Advisory Board in California.
